THE FEALGOOD FOUNDATION BENEFIT CONCERT at CITY WINERY NYC 10-09-2021 featuring DION, THE SMITHEREENS with MARSHALL CRENSHAW,, BETTYE LAVETTE, JIMMY VIVINO, TASH NEAL, KING SOLOMON HICKS, MARK BARDEN, & more

On Saturday night, October 9, 2021, at The City Winery in New York City, The Fealgood Foundation held a benefit Documentary/Concert event.

The primary mission of the FealGood Foundation, a non-profit organization, is to spread awareness and educate the public about the catastrophic health effects on 9/11 first responders, as well as to provide assistance to relieve the financial burdens placed on them over the last twenty years. In addition, a secondary goal is to create a network of advocacy on 9/11 healthcare issues. The Foundation not only advocates for Ground Zero workers, but shows others how they can advocate for themselves and help others through grassroots activism.

This docu-concert celebrated the lives of the 9/11 rescue and recovery workers who lobbied Congress, while battling their own terminal illness, to get healthcare costs covered for those that worked at Ground Zero in the months following 9/11. The documentary included footage highlighting the efforts of the Fealgood Foundation, an interview with Jon Stewart and songs by Bruce Springsteen, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Nathaniel Rateliff and was interspersed between live musical performances by the various musicians who all donated their talents to this worthy cause.

Jimmy Vivino, best known as the guitarist/arranger and leader of Jimmy Vivino and the Basic Cable Band, the house band for Conan O'Brien's late-night talk show, served as the musical director in addition to being a headline performer. Jimmy's current high profile bands include The Fab Faux and Canned Heat.

In addition to Jimmy, the backing band for the night, The Fealgood Music Band, consisted of Danny Louis,(Gov't Mule) keyboards; John Conte, (Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Early Elton Trio, Prisoners of 2nd Avenue), bass; Rich Pagano, (The Fab Faux), drums; Fred Walcott, (The Brian Mitchell Band), percussion.
